Last year Harbour Marine Services Ltd had the pleasure to carry out refits to two Alan Buchanan designs. Vashti had her engine rebuilt and her galvanised strap floors removed, cleaned and re galvanised before refitting. This meant her heads bulkheads had to be removed along with her solid teak maststep. Curtsy in the foreground had her engine rebuilt and then moved aft by 18" so as to improve galley comfort. After speaking to Alan Buchanan about this it was discovered that HMS had moved the engine to where it should have been when the vessel was built! The Galley was rebuilt and every piece of timber stripped and either repainted or re-varnished. New wiring and control panels, new upholstery means that she is a very comfortable and beautiful example of her class.
